Happy to share a project we designed and developed a few months ago for Linnaeus University's Centre for Concurrences in Colonial and Postcolonial Studies, in collaboration with Cecilia Aguzzi. Global Archives Online is a directory of open digital collections for the study of colonial and global history. Aimed primarily at students and researchers interested in imperial, colonial, and global history, it gives users worldwide an overview of major digital collections containing digitized manuscripts, newspapers, books, pamphlets, maps, images, and audio-visual material. Freely available and easy to access, Global Archives Online opens up new research opportunities for students, researchers, and the general public everywhere, while also helping narrow the gap between different research regions within academia, and between academia and the broader public. The website runs on Airtable and is continually updated by the research team.
