Minett Stories: Remixing an Industrial Past

2022-05-30

New project online: "Minett Stories – Remixing Industrial Pasts in the Digital Age" is a project of the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH), launched in fall 2019 and funded by Esch2022, European Capital of Culture. Through different forms of transmedia storytelling, the website tells the story of the Minett, a region in southern Luxembourg shaped by its industrial past — by the mining of "minette" iron ore and by iron and steel production. Minett Stories investigates the region's multiple, and sometimes contested, histories and identities, along with those of the people who lived and worked there. Project leader: Stefan Krebs (C²DH). Project coordinator: Werner Tschacher (C²DH). UX/UI design: Calibro, with Chiara Bagnoli. Development: Inmagik. Story design, photos, and videos: Lars Schoenfelder. CMS and backend development: Daniele Guida and Frédéric Reis. Curatorial team (C²DH): Viktoria Boretska, Maxime Derian, Marco Gabellini, Julia Harnoncourt, François Klein, Stefan Krebs, Laurence Maufort, Irene Portas Vázquez, Daniel Richter, Werner Tschacher, and Jens van de Maele. Typefaces: ABC Maxi by Dinamo, Neue Montreal by Pangram Pangram, and Sentient by Fontshare.
